ten weeks and counting

I have just finished my spring semester and have only ten weeks left until I have completed my program. Ten weeks! And, I just found out that I got an A in physics. Not just any physics, either. The kind about atoms and gamma rays and alphas etc.
Woo f'n hoo!

I have a whole 5 days to relax. How generous. Then it is 4 days a week internship and 8-12 classes on Wednesday. Piece of cake. After this is over, I only have my boards to take. ONLY! Yikes. I cannot believe that I am so close to finishing. YAY!

Eagle

Your Power Bird is an Eagle

You are spiritual and able to soar to great heights.

You are a true inspiration, and many people look to you for guidance.

And you are quite demanding in relationships... but you're worth it.

People know that you will become even greater than you imagine.

If you cling to an idea as the inalterable truth,
then when the truth does come in person and knock at your door,
you will not be able to open the door and accept it.-Udana Sutta

Whoever undertakes to set [their]self up as a judge
in the field of truth and knowledge
is shipwrecked by the laughter of the Gods. - Albert Einstein

Five Questions

This exercise came from Cedarflame and I thought it would be fun to do. Cedarflame asks the questions and I wing the answers.

Cedarflame: It is very popular these days to start a second career later in life, you are about to do that. How does it feel to be in college again and is it more difficult the second time around?
Pat: I like being in college again. I have always loved learning. It is very much harder this time around. My ability to do rote memory is giving me a terrible time. On the comprehension level, learning isn’t so bad. I think rote memory is harder because I have not had to practice that kind of learning in a long time.

Cedarflame: Religion is a taboo subject, so let’s broach it. You are a self-professed recovering Catholic; do you see yourself on some levels as still a religious person?
Pat: I don’t see myself as a religious person, but I see myself as a spiritual person. The difference is, religion is man-made, and spirituality is between you, the God/ess and people. I attend a church that gives me the freedom to be a spiritual person, the Unitarian Universalist Church.
(UUSG)

Cedarflame: A couple years ago you went to Greece, was it a trip of a lifetime for you?
Pat: It was a wonderful trip. I really enjoyed seeing the cultural difference. The cruise to the islands was the best part. A trip of a lifetime? Maybe, but I intend to see other parts of the world, so the jury is out on that.

Cedarflame: You have lived on the East coast and the West coast did you experience the big difference in people that everyone talks about?
Pat: Yes, I did. I think for the region I lived in on the West coast, the people were more rural, tended to have guns, and were more laid back. In the East, we are always looking as to what we will be doing next, where we can go. I think the differences will be in the context of what type of people are you around in the East or West, not so much where you are.

Cedarflame: So, let’s end this with a basic question asked of all college students about to graduate. Where do you see yourself a couple years from now and where would you like to see yourself?
Pat: In a couple of years I see myself as working someplace to get experience so that I can go to where I really want to work. First jobs aren’t always your dream job. I would like to see myself in a community where my lifestyle is accepted.

Here are the rules if you want to participate in 5 Questions.
1. Send her an email saying: ”Interview Me” to Cedarflame@aol.com
2. She will respond by emailing you five questions. She gets to pick the questions.
3. You can then answer the questions on your blog.
4. You should also post these rules.
5. Anyone who asks to be interviewed will be sent 5 questions to answer on their blog. The questions will be individualized for each blogger.
